RUWireless Secure MacOS setup


  1. Go to wifi network selection screen > RUWireless network.

  2. Your web browser will automatically open and direct you to the screen below, select I have a NetID and Password. If it does not, open a browser and navigate to https://wifi.rutgers.edu.

  3. This will redirect you to your campus installer. Click on Join RUWireless Secure > Open or Allow if prompted to open your web browser.



  4. Select JoinNow.

  5. When the download finishes, a window containing the RUWireless Secure installer should appear. If it does not, check the folder where you downloaded the installer to and look for a file that says RUWirelessSecure.dmg. Once this folder is open, double click on the SecureW2 icon.

  6. Enter your Rutgers University NetID and Password on the window that appears and click Next.

  7. Depending on which MacOS your device is running, the system may require you to install the profile in your System Preferences.
    1. If so, enter your device password when prompted > Install in the System Preferences window that appears and the subsequent pop up.
      • Click the link in the SecureW2 JoinNow window for a video tutorial on how to install the profile in your System Preferences.
    2. If you are not prompted for this, proceed to the next step.

  8. Wait for the installer to connect and authenticate.
  9. The installer may ask to access your keychain. If it does, please select Always Allow.
  10. At the end of the install process, this screen should appear, click Done.

Your computer should now be configured to connect to RUWireless Secure, or ResNet if installed on a wired computer in a residence hall.
