Before a computer can connect to RUWired you must have a properly installed/integrated Ethernet card. The actual installation of the card will differ from manufacturer to manufacturer and is beyond the scope of this document. Following the directions that come with the card is strongly recommended.
Note: If you use your computer on another wired network you should record all settings before changing them, so they can be restored for later use.
Once the wired network card is installed and configured you need to configure the card's network settings.
Click Start => Settings => Control Panel.

In the Control Panel double-click the "Network" icon.

In the window that opens, double-click the item that reads "TCP/IP -> XXXXX", where XXXXX is the name of your wired PC card.

Choose the "IP Address" tab and select "Obtain IP address automatically"

Choose the "Gateway" tab, if anything is listed under installed gateways, select it and click "Remove"

Choose the "DNS Configuration" tab and select "Disable DNS". Click "OK".

Click OK in the "Network" window

You will be prompted to restart your computer, select "Yes".

At this point your computer is ready to use RUWired. For a login demonstration please click
